Feeling really stupid: Herpes or Penile Yeast Infection

I have acted rather stupidly the last while and had unprotected sex with a couple of girls.

After one such encounter I had an itchy, redish penis.  I was worried this was either a yeast infection or herpes (obviously I really hoped it was a yeast infection).  After it did not resolve in a few days I went to a doctor and got some cream. I have been applying this cream on and off (probably not as regularly as I should be) for the last couple of weeks.

However, a little redness has persisted on the tip of my penis and now after some fooling around my penis was kind of sensitive and I have little red spots on the tip of my penis and on the foreskin.  They appeared immediately after (like within an hour).

These really worry me.  Today, the day after, I now feel sick and my whole body feels really itchy (maybe from stress or maybe from herpes).

1) Is this just a product of the unresolved yeast infection?

2) Is this herpes or something else?

3) Can herpes present symptoms within a day?

4) What should I do?

I have thought about using the cream more reguarly for a week and trying to wipe out whatever is going on but am worried sick that I managed to catch herpes.

Thanks for the feedback people.

I kind of figured the same thing.  It is just amazing how stressful and needless such a situation can be.  For someone who is generally pretty smart, these have been really stupid decisions.  I just hope and pray they are consequence free.  Then it would just be a very valuable lesson.

I feel like I would currently make a great public speaker for the value of using proteciton, ;)

Thanks again.

herpes won't present with symptoms that long.

since you've been having unprotected sex, you should be covering your bases with proper testing at the proper times for std's. you can get tested for chlamydia, gonorrhea, ngu and trich any time after 1 week after you last had unprotected sex. you can test for syphilis any time after 6 weeks after you last had any sexual contact. you can test for herpes, hiv and hepatitis after 3 months after last having had sexual contact.

not unusual for fungal infections to return. it's important to use the cream properly and to use if for the right amount of time.  continue to follow up on your symptoms with your provider as needed to figure out if this is still a fungal infection, irritation or something else going on.

Hard to say what it is, did you go to a dermatologist? They see skin conditions every day and would be the right type of doctor to diagnose you. It could just be a rash, I think if it were herpes they would be sores like the kind that happen on your mouth. Don't stress yourself out, book an appointment with a dermatologist.
