Firey pain in leg after 1st OB was treated with Acyclovir

I took Acyclovir for genital herpes (gyno confirmed with test) starting 2/15 (this was my first OB).  I have since stopped the medication (2/26) after follow up with my dr as the OB had cleared up (actually cleared up on 2/22 but I didn't understand to stop taking the rx once clear).

Since 2/26 I have had trouble with the way my skin feels.  It started with prickly pins and needles for about two days in my left leg and rear...which just seemed itchy and uncomfortable.  Now the pins & needles have pretty much subsided (have taken Allegra the last two days) and I have a firey pain in my left thigh (backside) and my left hip is very sore and as well as one of the joints in my right hand.  The leg/hip issues have been occurring for two days.  The pain is enough to wake me up at night.  It's almost as if my skin cannot bear any weight without getting sore.  I am allergic to Advil, so I have been taking Tylenol for the pain...it doesn't help much.

I pretty much have to stay active to keep my mind off of the leg pain.  When I sit I am trying to put my weight on my right side to minimize the discomfort.  Sleeping is tough.

Any info on this type of side effect from Acyclovir, or stopping the Acyclovir?
Any suggestions?

Thanks for your help!

Hey. First off I'm not a professional

Everyone experiences different symptoms.
When I first contracted gen hsv1 my body felt very achey for a few weeks. I have had mrsa in the past so my immune system takes a huge hit everytime I get sick.

Just know that you're body is building up antibodies at this time so you might feel fatigue, down, and also emotionally stressed and depressed as a result of the infection.

Know that this is all ok! I contracted back in September. First few weeks were hard because I just felt sick

I recommend adding lysine and tumeric into your diet. I take supplements as well as include foods that have a higher dose. Both of these supplements help your immune system/'mood.

Try taking salt baths with lavender oil. At target this brand -Shea moisture- is available. Lavender helps relax your muscles and it good for soothing you stress as well. Drop in a yoga class or look up some online to follow. You might just need some good stretching like life360 said.

If it continues to be something worse see a doctor after 7 days.

Hi, you can google side effects but what your describing appears more a a pinched nerve issue since it comes and goes depending on how your sitting. Try putting a pillow under your calfs at night while sleeping to see if that helps.
