Ok thanks again! This forum is really helpful! God bless you all!
same advice as I gave on feb 1 to be honest.
The biokit test cost me about $400 including travel and the first WB is about 160. Based on my biokit you thought it was negative so I don't want to keep throwing money away when it doesn't appear I have HSV. Thanks!
Based on my other results and history is it worth it?
when the wb comes back indeterminate, typically we recommend waiting a few months and repeating it and marking on the request to compare to previous WB. up to you if you think it's worth more money or not.
Got my WB results and my dr told me they were indeterminate. He said with the negative biokit and no outbreaks he doesn't believe I have HSV. Any comments?
stop back and let us know how it turns out for you :)
Thanks! I do have a scheduled blood draw for the Western Blot on Thursday so I think I will go for it just for the confirmation even if it costs out of pocket.
well with 2 low positives and a negative biokit, odds are you really don't have hsv2. totally up to you if you want to pursue a herpes WB to confirm it. it's been enough time since the october encounter that a biokit is accurate.
In my original post i meant my first HSV1 value from the very first time i got tested was .3 and this was in 2008.
i had sex all throughout the year from may 2010 on was 1st unprotected sex and that partner was tested and was negative. I did have protected sex with someone else in October but have not talked to that partner.
the actual numeric results are meaningless as far as changes in them. you still have all low positives.
when was the last time you had sex prior to getting tested originally?
