Folliculitis and possible Herpes

I recently went to the gynecologist because i've been having problems with a very dry vaginal area above my clitoris, and linear fissures, it itches and burns.  My nurse practioner told me that it looked like i have herpes so she ran a test to the lab and I haven't got the results back yet this was 9 days ago and she said that i did not have any herpe sores so I might get a negative reading but I could still have the disease, the problem with me believing this is that I am a virgin.  This is something I do not take likely and would not lie about because I really want to get the best medical attention as possible.  I've also had an on going problem with folliculitis in my pubic area.  First my general doctor told me that it was from shaving and to stop so I did back in October but it has not gone away.  Two days ago I decided to pluck most of the hair in my pubic area and within a few hours the folliculitis was worse, many little red bumps with pus.  Originally my doctor gave my Clyndamicin Phosophate to treat this but it has not been helping.  I just really want some answers because I'm not sure what is going on with my body and I shower regularly and keep very clean and I don't know what to do because it's really scary and I feel like no one is giving me answers.  Do you have any suggestions of what I should do?  Thanks for any medical insight you can provide

Have you been checked for a staph infection? this could be very serious.  Do not stop until you get answers.  If you start running fever or it is spreading, get yourself to the ER. Red bumps with pus is a flashing red light.  You should see a doc immediately. Don't wait until Monday.
