GRACE please Help.

I am 22 and have been in a monagamous relationship for 11 months. Over a year ago I had an unprotected one night stand and I am afraid that I have herpes. The only symptom I have is sometimes burning on the right outside labia and sometimes a painful spot if I don't wear underpants (chaffing?). I have never had any lesions, or what i thought were bug bites or yeast infections. I had a blood std test in august 2008, which was negative, I'm getting another blood test march 29th.  I have been tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea, both negative.

I would like to know why herpes is not included in the std blood test and what my risk of contracting herpes from an unprotected encounter would be. Also how many people go with out symptoms for over a year. My boyfriend and I have had unprotected sex since July 2009, If I have herpes and infected him would he have shown symptoms?

the risk from a one time unprotected encounter is very low.

why don't you and your partner both get type specific herpes igg blood tests so you know who has what and go from there?
