Genital HSV1? Maybe?

Alright, So a little over a week and a half ago some itchy red bumps appeared on my scrotum, at the time they were about the size of a pimple each. They looked like nothing more then ingrown hairs or some sort of irritation from a razor. I shave, so I didn't think much of them.

Maybe 4 or 5 days after they appeared on my scrotum 1 bump appeared on the  edge of the glans (glands) of my penis. I thought this might have been some sort of irritation from schafeing or something as I had fallen asleep wearing my jeans that previous night.

A couple days after that I had just had sex with my girlfriend, about 5 minutes after we finished I got up to go urinate and  watched as 3 or 4 more bumps appeared on my penis head, and shaft. They quite literally appeared before my eyes. I thought this was an allergic reaction to the lube that was being used although I have never had a problem with it before. I washed my penis and scrotum thoroughly and took an anti histamine, It seemed as though the bumps shrunk in size but I really am not sure.

This brings me to the current day, about a week after I had seen the bumps appear. There is even more bumps on my scrotum now, they are large, red, and look as though they are filled with something, there is some that are alone, and a couple large clusters of them in very close proximity to each other.

My penis has 2 isolated bumps on the shaft, and 4 isolated bumps on the glans (glands). They look like pimples. they are red, under the skin. None of them are ulcers or open sores. None of them bleed, none of them hurt. There is no white tip on them like pimples have, there is in fact nothing on them, no crust, etc.

The smallest one is hardly raised and maybe about 1mm in diameter, the largest one is maybe 5mm in diamter and raised quite a bit. The largest of the 2 clusters of them on my scrotum is about 2cm by 1cm and looks as though it is made up of about 6 5mm diameter bumps.

Now as for my sexual history, I have been with 3 partners over the last 2 years. In 2007 I was with a girl for 6 months, then in 08, another for around 7 months, up until september. I started dating my current partner  around December 08, We have had unprotected sex many times, she has no symptoms in her genital area. She does get cold sores so that means she has HSV-1?  She has preformed oral sex on me many times, none of these times did she have an active cold sore or even the pre-sore tingling sesnsation. I have not slept with anyone else and have never exhibited any symptoms until 2 weeks ago.

I went to the STD clinic here, the nurse said it looked like herpes, unfortunately there was no doctor there at the time to take a swab. the nurse said it was odd that I had no ulcers or open sores after almost 2 weeks of bumps and that I had no pain.

the only discomfort i have is itching on the bumps on my scrotum.

Could I have contracted HSV1 from receiving oral sex, even when no active cold sore was present in her mouth?
