2. Yes, this is rare. For an HSV infection to take hold, the virus usually has to be massaged into the tissues. Therefore, initial herpes generally appears that the sites that receive the maximum friction during sex, I.e. usually the penis in men. Recurrent outbreaks can occur on a buttock or hip area, but not the initial infection.
This sounds like herpes. The sores, the location, and the pain and burning. All textbook. Primary location of an outbreak can occur anywhere on the boxer short area and is NOT designated to just the area or spot of transmission. This is false.
Sores around anus and vagina should have been swabbed and clinically stated positive for herpes. Why a swab wasn't performed by your doctor is beyond me.
Please seek a blood test immediately or PCR swab on any suspected lesions. You could be infected and contagious to others, specifically your boyfriend.
Hi, for the book, having an initial outbreak on the butt area would be very most often a recurrent outbreak, meaning they would already have herpes. Primary outbreaks occur at point of contact like your immediate vaginal area unless anal sex was involved as many male herpes are in the genital area, like the shaft. Also herpes sores are not all over the place but tend to be on one side only. If your new vaginal sores are the same as the past butt sores it just maybe a friction from sheet fabric softner or soap.
When i first read your post i suspected it was a shingles outbreak on your butt.
I am waiting on my results right now. It should take a week, says my gynecologist. I am just wondering if it could be due to the unlubed sex or do I really have herpes :(
As it is four months since those symptoms of initial concern, a blood test will tell you if you have herpes. Seek a test for IgG antibodies type specific for HSV1 and HSV2.
