Genital Herpes

So I just learned yesterday that a guy who i had unprotected sex with twice ( 1st time in early May and 2nd time early July) has Herpes and he knew he had it but failed to tell me. He has been cheating on his out of town gf that he has been dating for a while now ( of course he told me he was single ). But she called me and many other girls that she found in his phone and just asked questions bout how i knew him and if we had sex because and he has herpes and gave it to her a few years ago. I honestly do believe the girl, she was very nice and didnt come at me yelling or screaming i just believe that she had a feeling that he was cheating on her and wanted to get to the bottom of it cause her and the guy were planning on getting married. i think i am 1 out of 6 girls she has called and they all had unprotected sex with him. so i pretty much feel like i am screwed! i have an appointment tomorrow morning to get STD tested.  my question is what is the likely hood that i am infected? both time we had sex he never ejaculated inside me and wasnt in there that long 3min tops, also he clearly didnt have an outbreak at the time. i know you can get herpes from skin to skin contact even if they are not having an outbreak but how high of risk is it? i havent experience any systoms or outbreaks but then again i did read the many people dont ever have systoms or an outbreak... Please help! I know the herpes is HIGHLY contagious so deep down inside i have a feeling that i am infected but i am keeping my fingers crossed that i am not. i wont truely know till the test results come in...

covering your full std testing bases is a good idea. You can get tested for chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis now. You'll need to wait another month for herpes, hepatitis and hiv testing to be accurate. You might want to even consider cancelling your appointment tomorrow and rescheduling it in october and just doing all your testing at one time.

it's low risk that you contracted hsv2 from him from having sex twice with him. if you've never been tested for herpes before, if you do test +, no way to know if it's an old or new infection at this point. typically herpes is not part of routine std testing and you very well might never have been tested for it before this.

whether a partner ejaculates or not has NOTHING to do with std risk dear. It's the sex act itself that is the risk , not semen.

No, herpes is not HIGHLy contagious either. Over all your risk is rather low if you do nothing but avoid sex anytime a partner has anything going on genitally.

Hi Grace thanks for taking the time to read my post and to answer your question all i have had done was the routine STD testing done in the doctors office. I didnt know that herpes was not apart of the basic STD testing thanks for informing me. I am going to keep my appointment cause i scheduled me yearly pap smear but i will hold off on the STD testing till October to have a more accurate out come. So along with the routine STD test what Herpes test do i ask for?

well if you are going anyways, cover with the testing I mentioned was ok for now and arrange to have the rest of your testing done later.
