Genital Herpes

Hi there,
I was exposed to genital herpes twice (unprotected), once on 1/1/2014 and another on 04/14/14, i was tested on 06/02/14 and the IGG came back negative for both types. HSV1 was 0.04 and HSV2 was 0.03. He was not having an outbreak, and was on daily suppressive therapy. I have not had any symptoms that come to my attention. That was 7 weeks past the last exposure that i was tested, how accurate are these results?

I suppose it can just cause redness and itching. But this would be once you have had the virus for a whole and seen off the worst of the outbreaks. Your test is so negative, it must be something else.

Thank you so much! I literally have been stressing about this for weeks. I always have my partners get tested, and this partner lied about having herpes, he said he was embarrassed to tell me.

Anyways, this is an odd question, but can genital herpes simply be just redness and itching? I know i am prone to yeast infections, but wasn't sure if herpes can be redness and itching without the lesions?

I really appreciate your help as i have not been able to discuss this with anyone, and my normal doctor really embarrassed me when i asked questions.

A great indicator. Around 80% of those infected would have produce a positive blood test result by now. Probably a few of the remaining 20% would have had some movement above the 0.2 level. Anything below 0.2 is incredibly low.

As you have no form of HSV, it won't really turn up unannounced.  You are likely to experience symptoms on infection.

12 weeks is the 'official' time window, but have no fear, it will be negative.
