Thank you so much for your answers!!
What you have read is correct. You will not pass a genital infection to your child. Children are susceptible to oral hsv1 from adults who have the virus and kiss them.
Thank you for your answer... i do not have cold sores on my lip. I will get to the doctor... another question, now that I have this outbreak, Ive niticed my 10 month old baby has a small cold sore on his lip. Is it possible for me to transfer it to him? As ive read on the internet that its not possible. Maybe he just has is because hes a bit sic? I just want peace of mind!!!
First off, go see a Dr as soon as you can. Timing is everything and you need the sores tested asap. That insures an accurate swabbing.
Your husband could carry the hsv virus and not even know it. This is very common.
Do you get cold sores on your lip? The reason I ask is if you do then you do not have hsv1 on your genitals. If you have never had cold sores then your husband could give you hsv1 from oral sex (providing he has the virus)
Or he could be hsv2 positive and like I said not know it.
Yes it could have taken this long to contract it. Many couples where one has it and the other doesn't never infect the other partner.
Point is, there doesn't have to be anything sinister going on as far as infidelity is concerned.
Please go see a Dr or walk in clinic as soon as you can. The sooner the better. Have them swab the area and do a type specific igg blood test. No igm. Refuse that if they offer. The test is useless and no hsv expert recommends this test.
When you know what's going on with you then have your husband take a blood test. Or go to the Dr. Together. That's the best thing to do
