Genital herpes on lips

Did anyone see any kind of symptoms on lips from genital herpes? That is the only diagnosis i have had and i seem to ask around and most everyone says its not from genital herpes. So what is an std specialist called and is there one just specialized specifically on stds? Also are the symptoms on your lips if any blisters just like fever blisters or would it cause skiin discoloration?

What kind of lip symptoms are you having?

Just fyi - oral herpes is herpes on the lips no matter if it's hsv1 or hsv2 as the cause.  Genital herpes is on the genitals - no matter if it's hsv1 or hsv2 as the cause.  

Plenty of info on the web if you google oral herpes to see pictures and get more info too.  Oral herpes looks like oral herpes whether it's caused by hsv1 or hsv2.

ok yes i have searched for oral herpes on web and what i see if far more severe then what i have. I have no cold sore/ fever blisters but my skin is extremely dry and the bottom lip is where i notice most the symptoms. I can see discoloration on the upper half of my bottom lip. Its almost as if i am pouting like a little child does when they are sad. But i am not doing that. I also get white dead skin on the upper half of my bottom lip like if they are chapping but this happens whether its cold weather or hot weather. Now i noticed during the summer months or anytime the sun is out my lips will feel like they are on fire. Just like i had rubbed jalepeno on my lips. Its really painful and i have to cool them off with cold water to relieve some of the pain. Ive never experience any of these symptoms before until i tested positive for genital herpes.  Its noticeable enough to where anytime i talk to someone they just talk to my lips instead of looking at me in the eyes... The white dead skin is an all day thing. I keep whiping it off and it just comes right back. Ive tryed chapstick and vaseline but the dead skin still keeps on coming back and my lip never heals. hope this is enough information but if i did not make anything clear please let me know. thanks

Why not follow up on this with a dermatologist? perhaps it's a fungal infection or a bacterial infection that just isn't clearing up?

this really doesn't sound like anything herpetic.

ok i have an appointment scheduled with dermatoligist already but what do they give for fungal or bacterial infections? I mean i asked a family practitioner doctor if i could be tested for baterial infection and he said no need to because they will eventually clear up on there own. Is this part true?

Sometimes they do - most times they don't.  Yours doesn't sound like it's going away on its own whatever it is :(
