Genital herpes type 2 transmission risks...need your advice.

Hello,

Thanks for your time reading this. I'm currently on valacyclovir 500mg daily for herpes type 2. Now, here's my question.

Is it possible to transmit it to someone without any sexual contact.

Precisely, could I transmit it to someone who sleeps in the same bed as me because of the sheets for example ?

I'm concerned because sometimes I have to share my bed and I wouldn't want to infect anyone just because they sleep in the same bed as me. I sleep with long shorts or pajama pants when I know I have to share my bed.

Thanks !

that is erroneous information!!  your kids can hop into bed with you any time you want!!!!  nothing like a nice snuggle with the lil ones :)

correct - it's not going to live in the sheets for someone else to get either.

Thank you...so the virus itself cannot live on sheets or other objects ?

Sorry, someone put a doubt in my mind and I'm to get the correct info.

Cheers !

we call it a sexually transmitted infection for good reason - it takes sexual contact to transmit it.  just sleeping in a bed with someone won't infect them. the virus can't crawl out of your pj's, across the sheets, up their legs and into their genitals to infect them .
