Getting the flu from herpes?

I've heard that most people who have outbreaks get flu like symptoms, is it possible to actually get the flu from herpes?

Did you test positive for herpes before? What type of test?

was never tested for it, never showed any symptons or had any reason to

no, herpes does not cause influenza. It sounds like they did a nasal swab to test for viruses and influenza came back +. Make sure you are staying home and away from people until you are feeling better.
