HPV VACCINE VS HSV-2 TEST

by CHECKINGIT, Jun 25, 2009 05:29PM
MY GIRL FRIEND WAS DIAGNOSED WITH HSV-2 LAST YEAR PER IGG TEST. SHE HAS NEVER HAD A OUTBREAK THAT COULD BE DETECTED. AT THE SAME TIME SHE HAD HER TEST SHE WAS BEING GIVEN THE HPV VACCINE INJECTIONS. IS IT POSSIBLE IN ANYWAY THAT THE VACCINE COULD HAVE PRODUCED A FALSE ANTIBODY  POSITIVE. I KNOW ITS A LONGSHOT BUT I WAS JUST CURIUS.

No, that's not possible.  However, it would be good to look at the index value associated with her HSV 2 test to make certain it is above 3.5.  If not, I would recommend that she has a confirmatory test done, just to eliminate any chance of a false positive test result.
