it takes 6 months and all 3 gardasil vaccinations until you are protected from the 4 types of hpv that the vaccine covers. If you had any of those 4 types of hpv prior to being vaccinated, it won't help with those.
if you had a questionable encounter 2 weeks prior to testing then indeed you need to wait and repeat your igg blood tests in 3 months.
if you are infected with herpes orally from your recent encounter, you can transmit the virus to others through kissing. If you have genital herpes, it's transmitted through contact with your genital area, not through kissing.

hi there.. i got another question. Sorry to irritate you. If i am a HSV carrier with no apparent symptom, no cold sores or whatsoever on both mouth and genitals, can i transmit the virus to my partner through kissing/deep kissing?
Thank you.
By the way, coffeeortea, is it possible to have a negative result for both HSV 1 and 2 on the 12 weeks, but positive result after 6 months or longer without any symptom?
Thank you.
thank you again for your clarification and the link provided. Its definitely helpful. After reading many post regarding test result, my 2 weeks test result can be considered "inaccurate". Seems like i need to take the test again on the 12 week. Is negative result on the 12 weeks long enough to conclude that i am not carrying the HSV virus?
I am damn worried and afraid now. I feared that i will transmit the virus to my partner if we were to engage in oral sex. However, i cannot bring myself to tell her about my stupid experience i had 3 weeks back. Its my first encounter and a real stupid wan as i am feeling super depressed now.. sigh..
Thank you once again.
Test results can never be zero. If you're below 0.9, you are definitely negative
terri warren explains here as to why:

Asymptomatic shedding doesn't mean your skin is literally shedding pieces/flakes of skin. It just means the virus is present on the skin surface even though there are not any herpes blisters/sores. It is impossible to tell when someone is asymptomatically shedding, hence the word, 'asymptomatic'.
hi there. i got one more question. My test result for HSV 1 was 0.30 while my HSV 2 was 0.21. If a normal person not infected with herpes, shouldn't the result be totally 0? Or is it that our body generally will have some of this antibody lying around?
Thanks you
icic. ok. thank you for your clarrification. However, i got one more question about viral shedding. I have read multiple definition regarding viral shedding but i do not know how it looks like. For asymptomatic shedding(viral shedding without any herpes symptoms), does it look like thin flakes of skin that can be pulled off from the genital area?
Thanks!

I meant you probably do not have HSV.
As for HPV, I'm not entirely knowledgeable, you might want to ask the STD forum/community for more details.
Having the flu wouldn't make any difference for a primary infection.
Thank you for your fast replies. Just to calrify with you, after takin the HPV vaccination, i will not be able to infect my partner with the 4 types of HPV virus, but still able to spread other types of HPV virus to my partner?
By the way, you mention that "Symptoms for HSV show up on average 5-7 days after infection, if you haven't had any visible symptoms by 3 weeks, you have nothing really to worry about. " does it mean that i did not contract the HSV virus or does it mean that the virus is dormant, yet to have a outbreak.
Lastly, i was having a bad flu last week(2 weeks after my initial exposure) and i believe my immune system is kinda low at that point of time. Since the flu, i did not develop any warts/herpes symptoms. Does it mean that i am "safe" from the HPV and HSV virus?
Thanks you!
If you take any vaccine for a specific virus, you are immune from the virus and cannot become infected OR infect anyone else.
Blood tests will pick up dormant HSV infections if it's been at least 3 months since you've had the virus in your system.
At 2 weeks, only 40-50% of those infected will have a positive blood test result, for others, it can take up to 3 months.
