HS1 Transmission to Genitals to someone with HS1

A friend of mine has HS1 and hasn't had a cold sore for over 20 years.  Can she get HS1 transferred to her genitals from someone how has oral HS1?  I thought once someone has HS1 orally they can't get HS1 genitally.

That is generally correct. It is possible that if her immune system was severely compromised she may be at risk...

As always, it still probably isn't a good idea to be active if any sores are present. Also, 20 years is a long time, has she verified she doesn't have HSV2 cold sores, again just a possibility.
