HSV. Concered I might have got it.

I met a 46 year old man the other night and I am 23.... We ended up making out and things started to go further and he told me he has herpes on his genitals.  He said it was over for me to give him a hand job but not oral.  So I did.  He was not having an outbreak at the time and I washed my hands a few minutes after i was done giving him the hand job.  I used hot soapy water.  So my point is..can i get herpes from giving him hand jobs?  I am kinda freaking out because of this.  I like him a lot too but I don't think I could ever be intamit with him again.  He has said he has been with many women and none of them ever got it from him.

What are the chances that I could have gotten HSV from him?
