HSV 1 POSSIBLE

hello.... just want to ask a question iam 23 yers old now and 4 years ago i started to get a coldsore twice a year in my right upper lip.....and they last about a week.... i used herpecin eveytime they come out.... i never been tested for hsv 1 or hsv 2......so if i do i have it how can i help to no infect others when i have a outbreak.......... and this morning i started to get one .......

cold sores are oral herpes. they are almost always hsv1.

if you've never been tested for herpes, why not get a type specific herpes igg blood test to know what your status is?
