HSV-1 or HSV-2

My doc recently told me I have herpes. She also said that my IGG is Neg which means I only recently gotten it.So of course I got it from my husband. But my husband just came home from Iraq and recently went back.He says he never cheated on me.My doc keeps trying to put it in my head that my husband has cheated on me because I haven't cheated on him.She also said that I need to go get more lab work done in 2 months to tell me if I have HSV-1 or HSV-2 in my vagina. So my questions:

1.Could I have HSV-1 in my vagina??

2.If I have HSV-2 what other possibilities are there then "Your husband has cheated on you"??

3.Could he have been dormant for a long time and I only catch it now??

4.We have been married since Jan.2006, Could I have not gotten it from him till now??

5.How could I tell if it is HSV-1 or HSV-2??
--I read that when you 1st get an outbreak of HSV-2 that its really bad.I had my 1st outbreak and it was really small with only 2 small pea size sores that looked a little like a cold sore that went away within 5 days.

6.How accurate are the IGG results?? Could I have had a dormant HSV1 or 2 and the IGG results are wrong??

I have HSV II , only found out when I asked my doctor to run test for all STDs and took the Herpselect test.  As far as outbreaks being bad this is not true.  I have never had an initial outbreak I can identify nor a single outbreak that I know of.  So the symptoms are so mild as to be unnoticeable and I have probably had it for years.  So your husband did not necessarily cheat on you.  I have read one on four adult women have HSV II and one in five men if statistics are true.  90 percent of them have no symptoms they are aware of.  You or your husband could have had it for years and not known it.

If you only had an IgM that came back as positive, then disregard that totally.

If your IgG was negative, and this is herpes, then its a new infection.

1. yes, but it is usually rare and much milder.

2. see below--

3. yes, in a sense-- sometimes it takes years for partners of pos persons to catch it. he may have it and not even know, have no symptoms at all.

4. yes, see above.

5. the only way to tell is by a blood test.

6. igg tests are highly accurate, but require about 3+ months post exposure to be accurate.
