After about 4 days of a slight burning sensation from prostate area to the tip of my penis, I went to a doctors care. I was tested for an infection(which was neg) The doctor gave me some antibiotics and said it may be urethritis. After another couple of weeks of discomfort I returned to the doctor. I explained to the doctor I noticed an increase in discomfort especially after 2 cups of coffee one morning. He decided to test for HSV-1 and HSV-2. A lady called a week later and said I tested positive for HSV-1 and don't share a glass or kiss if I get a cold sore. Having said that I know that I have and do get cold sores every couple of years especially when I get lots of sun exposure. I am still having mild discomfort that has not seemed to go away. My girlfriend was also tested and she was Neg. for HSV-1 and 2. Could this be HSV-1 in my urethra? If so why does it seem different from a so called "outbreak" ? Thank you....
