HSV-2, Masturbation and autoinnoculation

I have genital HSV2 and I was wondering if I can safely masturbate without having to worry about spreading the herpes to my hands and possibly my mouth or my eyes. Is washing your hands afterwards enough?

if you have an active lesion present, abstain from masturbation until it's healed.

if you have open cuts on your hands, don't masturbate until they are healed.

very unlikely to contract your own genital hsv2 infection on other body parts like the hands. certainly wash your hands after masturbating before touching your eyes .

Is it possibly for me to develop whitlow by touching my genitals or by having bodily fluid enter through a break in the skin on my hand?
