HSV 2 detection

Herpes Simplex 2
Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) Types I and II Specific Antibodies, IgG Test: HSV-2 aB IgG out of range: 2.88 H result: POSITIVE

I received this positive test...should I have the test redone to confirm or is it a done deal I have HSV 2?  

Herpes Simplex 1
Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) Types I and II Specific Antibodies, IgG HSV-1 aB IgG in range: <0.90 results NEGATIVE

perhaps you and your partner should sit down and read the free herpes handbook together. the link is in our read before posting post on the forum.  You could be doing a heck of a lot more to protect you if you don't already have hsv2!!!!

Neither of those items and we won't go 3 months to get retested.  No other option and I don't have any symptoms.

you need to wait at least 3 months after you last had sex and then repeat your testing. another option is to wait 4 months and seek out a herpes WB blood test to confirm your status.

does this partner take daily suppressive therapy? do you have protected sex with them?

well a less than a week, however I have had sex with this partner earlier this year and they HSV 2
