The dr is the main dr.'s assistant and who I could see in short timing. It was just a bit off putting to have HIV dismissed because it is low in our area. I had to tell him my above igg test result info because he hadnt gotten it from the lab yet and I already got the email from labcorp. Well he has since gotten them from the lab and called to tell me the numbers were "high" and he thinks it is a herpes flareup causing the issue so gave me a valacyclovir 500mg over what looks like 15 days. Its been 2.5 days and no changes (not sure what I should expect here). When all I have read is that igg numbers are just basically saying negative or positive, that they dont go up and down by virus activity. Another reason for doubt.
I have read much on severe hsv2 symptoms, which I may or may not have, but the night sweats again are the big one not on the list with exception to maybe 4-5 cases I have read.
Going from dysuria to chills, night sweats, low body temp, and all the others issues just seems a bit out there for herpes. My eyes are glassy and bloodshot lst couple days, just seems to get worse.
These symptoms cannot practically be caused by HSV as you have antibodies that will function effectively.
Why are you doubting your doctor's opinion?
A follow up,
I still have a bit of a sore throat, I developed chest tightness and a little cough for 2 days that's seem to be gone now. My neck/glad areas are irritated still, I still feel feverish throughout the day, and get little clammy/ sweats, but still have lower than normal body temps staying around mid 97s, lower right after night sweat or feeling clammy but, nothing over 98.2 during the last few weeks. I now have had some degree of night sweat every night since posting, still no fever but of course I am checking when i wake up after the sweating.
I went back to the dr. to let him know of my added symptoms and he seemed to attribute much to anxiety because he gave me hydroxyzine which doesn't seem to calm me down. Same racing thoughts, I just get more tired while having them now. I am not sure he is understanding the concern and the timing of my symptoms compared to possible infection dates, which is frustrating to me as they line right up with ARS but he all but laughed at me for coming in after telling me to wait a week, but I couldn't wait after being up all night, waking up after each night sweat which is the most concerning symptom to me. Any peace of mind with not having a fever and/or no fever night sweats? I am really trying to figure out how I am going to make it 3 months for conclusive testing. I feel like testing every few days right now just to get a mental break from an otherwise meaningless negative result.
Dr. Hunter Handsfield, Dr. Hook?
HSV1 is of no issue to you, so her mouth and whether she had oral HSV1 is not relevant. HSV2 orally is too rare to be concerned about and probably doesn't shed from that location.
You will need to test at 16 weeks to eliminate HSV2. If it is low positive again then you will need to consider a Westernblot.
No one has ever been documented as being infected with HIV from receiving oral sex
First of all thank you for your reply.
I would mutually test however that relationship has ended naturally, not related to these issues I don't want to cause unneeded stress like this for her if at all possible.
This reminds me of other information feeding my concern. I have fungal infection around my anus, been years and just controlled a bit by prescription creams from Drs. Problem with it is has caused fissures that I occasionally get small amounts of blood from after bowel movements. This partner became very wet each time and while on top I was getting vaginal fluids all around my genital and down to my anus area which concerned for unprotected contact to open sores. Second she got hit in the lip by one of her dogs heads so further fear she had a potential open sore in her mouth during the oral sex.
I am really trying to think much of this is extreme anxiety. One potentially saving grace, at least in my current mental state, is she works in hospital and said she donated blood very often.. clinging to screening.
As you had protected sex, then HIV is zero risk, no concerns there.
HSV1 is essentially not possible as you already have it. The HSV2 is most likely a false positive.
Would you consider mutually testing with this new partner to put your mind at ease regarding STD/STIs.
