HSV-2 result 3.07

I just received my lab results and they are HSV 2 IGG TYPE SPECIFIC 3.07, and it says a single positive result only indicates previous immunologic exposure and the level of antibody response may not be used to determine active infection or disease stage. The test should be repeated in 4-6 weeks when negative or equivocal results are obtained in suspected early herpes simplex disease.

What does this mean? Do I have HSV 2? Please help

your hsv2 igg is positive.

It's a low positive so you'll need to have further confirmatory testing to determine if you are truly infected with hsv2 or not.

How long prior to testing did you last have sex? do you have a regular partner? was this just a regular screening or had you had obvious symptoms?
