HSV I & II Diagnosis

I recently tested positive for HSV 2. I had a second blood test run to verify results. My doctor informed of the Type 2 virus. I received the test results in the mail today and it looks like I am positive for Type 1 as well. I have never had symptoms of either. I will post the numbers of each test. Can someone please tell me if I have both Types, or just HSV 2. I am so confused.

Test #1:   Herpes I and II, IgG w/ Reflex 42.2 H
                HSV 2 Glycoprotein G Ab  7.28 H

Test #2:   Herpes I and II, lgG w/ Reflex 44.4 H
                HSV 2 Glycoprotein G Ab  6.21 H

lots of good journal posts I've made in the past if you have time to read through my journal here on medhelp :)

in 25 years of having hsv2, I've only ever been turned down because of my hsv2 twice. yes indeed I've told more than 2 or 3 people too :)  It really hasn't been much of an issue for the vast majority of the partners I've had.    The only real affect on my sex life has been that when I have a recurrence, I have to avoid sex.  I take daily suppressive therapy to keep recurrences to a minimum as well as to protect any negative partners I've had. It really does work :)

hang in there and keep asking questions!!!

No symptoms at all. I've never had fever blisters and nothing down below. No, I haven't read it. I will try to look for it online. There are so many things to read that it's confusing and overwhelming. I just want to know how to not spread it on myself. I also feel like my sex life is over and no one will ever want me. My doctor put me on medication, but I read that many people do not take it. Do you have any personal advice that you can share with me? Thank you Grace. ~Kelli

your testing was not the preferred testing :(   you were never tested for hsv1 so absolutely no way to know if you have it or not.

your hsv2 is +. have you had any genital symptoms?

have you read the free herpes handbook yet?
