HSV I/II Igg Test Results Interpretation

by scaredjune2009, Jul 03, 2009 09:36PM
Hi I need help intepreting my lab test, as I had unsafe sex about 5 months ago.
The lab test only had one result under HSV I/II Igg and I can't figure out if I'm in danger or not.
The result was 7.7 which is obviously positive, but as I've been seeing, many posters on the web who have tested positive for HSV-II have higher results like 35 or 51.
Am I in danger?  Is 7.7 a result I should be worried about?

I've only had one cyst-like object on my penis which didn't bother me for months until one day it did start itching on contact but disappeared after a couple days of hydrocortisone.

Please help, any information is appreciated.

you got me....if you were positive on the igg 1/2 combo test then they should retest for each type...least that is how my dr. said it worked first time I got tested. Good luck. 7.7 on either one is strongly positive but you need to call your doctor...

An IgG combined test is the incorrect test for herpes - you want an IgG type specific blood test.
