HSV Incongruent Test Result

Hello,

I have been feeling general malaise, fatigue and back pain (mostly lower) for three weeks now. For the first two weeks, my back was very sore and has decreased slightly over time. I only have energy for a few hours in the morning and then fade quickly. This has been going on for 3 weeks now. I have not noticed any lesions or skin related symptoms.

My partner is HSV positive but I need to confirm the type. Because I have been feeling so bad for 3 weeks, I had blood tests done. I tested for HSV this week IGG and IGM and received a 0.99 on the IGG type specific HSV1. IGMs came back negative but I read these aren't to be used.

I am narrowing down my risk to exposure took place about 5 weeks ago. We had sex and she think she was breaking out or broke out very soon after. I wore a condom but it's a naturalamb condom.

Again, I believe exposure might have been about 5 weeks ago. I've been noticing my symptoms (malaise, fatigue, sore back) for 3 weeks and I tested this week which was the 3rd week of feeling bad.

I'm struggling mentally due to the long-term malaise and soreness feeling and my mind is playing tricks on me. Can anyone provide any insight on whether this appears to be HSV with my symptoms and tests? I will test again but wanted to wait to make sure IGG test will come back definitive.

Thanks in advance.

Hsv1 is very rarely ever transmitted through intercourse. Your condom covered intercourse was safe against hsv1

Thank you. I didn't think so until the test came back incongruent. I'll re-test in a few weeks but wanted to get some insight before then.

Your symptoms aren't hsv related and your condom protected intercourse was very low risk. I absolutely do not susoect hsv at all
