HSV test results

Here are my results for the HSV blood test....

Taken at 4/21/11

HSV 1 IGG     5.99 Positive

HSV 2 IGG     <0.91 Negative

HSV 1/2 IGM    0.90 Equivocal


I haven't had any symptoms since I was 15 in only the lip area. Does this mean I now have the virus or it existed in my body at some point and has been fought off or suppressed? Also, is it spreadable to other areas even though no outbreaks or symptoms have occurred for over 6 years? Should i be taking medication?

if you had a cold sore at 15, then you know your hsv1 is oral. even though you've not had any recurrences orally since then, the virus still activates periodically.
