HSV

i wet in to see my GYN for my yearly eaxam at that time i had new sores on my genital area that were really painful and when I would go to the restroom it would burm. So I let my GYN know and she said it looked like genital herpes and was almost positive that this is what it was and trated me with some acyclovir for 10 day treatment,  also so she did a swab test to check for hsv 1 and 2, and also did other std testing. The acyclovir worked really well and the sores went away. A month later i get the same thing only this time its on the labia  not as bad as the first outbrak but still uncomfortable so i had some Acyclovir left and started the treatment.I went back to my GYN office to get the results from the HSV and other std results and she tells me that all of my tests came back negative for hsv 1 and 2. SHe reccomends me going to a dermatologist. What can this be?

A lesion culture has a high false negative rate. did they by chance culture your 2nd set of symptoms you had too?  

do you have a regular partner?  

How long prior to these symptoms starting had you last had sex?
