HSV1 from sharing cigarette
Hi, I'm hoping I'll catch Grace on this forum since she's so knowledgeable,

Two days ago I shared a cigarette with a friend who gets the occasional cold sore. He told me he gets cold sores (HSV1) after the fact. At the time, he didn't have an active outbreak though, but I DID accidentally bite my lip a bit (enough to draw some blood) at the time. I'm now worried that the cut on my lip would serve as an entry point for the virus, even if my friend didn't have an active outbreak at the time. I have been tested before, and am negative for both types of HSV, and so is my current boyfriend. I'm now terrified of contracting the virus! Can anyone tell me how likely it is to contract oral herpes from sharing a cigarette with someone with with no active lesions?
