HSV2 Test results Vs. activity

I am 38 year old male, married for 15 years. I have never had vaginal intercourse with any one else beside my wife. 5 years ago I received a massage that ended with Fellatio by female. 8 months ago I had a body to body massage where the lady was naked and rubbing up and down my body. Most of the time was spent with me on my stomach. There was very little contact with my penis and here vagina, she may have brushed past a few times. This session ended with unprotected oral sex. Three weeks ago I had a massage by a male who performed oral sex on me. This was the point where I became aware of my potential problems. I tested for STDs three days later. All were negative except for HerpesSelect IGG showing 2.56 for HSV1 and 1.5 for HSV2. I have had cold sores before, but never any signs of genital herpes. I tested only HSV2 IGG again 21 days after last oral sex episode, still positive at 1.67.

I have read various information on the forum, that Herpes2 are almost always passed through genital to genital insertive sex. Am I that unlucky, or can this be a false positive?  I know I need to get confirmation testing done, but may have an anxiety attack waiting for the three weeks for results!  Any comments welcome.

you can't test for std's just 3 days post contact. the risk of a std from oral sex overall is very low but should you develop any symptoms, be seen again for repeat testing since yours was done too early.

if you have a regular partner, you should only  be having protected sexual contact with others. If you are going for erotic massages, ask them to keep their underwear on or you keep yours on. If you are going to receive oral sex, make sure you are wearing a condom for it. This protects you, protects your partner and saves you a lot of worrying and frequent testing.  

can you get hsv2 from just naked skin on skin contact?  you can but the risk of such is very low.  it's very doubtful you contracted hsv2 from this.

your hsv2 igg's are both very low positives.  At this point, wait another  2 months and seek out a herpes WB blood test to confirm your status.   if your provider uses quest labs, it's test #34534. It's a send out to the the U of washington for all quest labs so if your local lab is having trouble finding the right test, let them know that so they know better where to look to make sure you get the right testing done.

Thanks for the quick response. The full std panel done after my last exposure only gave me a status following up on the activity done 8 months ago. For the male oral sex three weeks ago, if I have not had any symptoms, am I safe after this time period, or should I get another full panel test done?  I know Herpes may never show signs, so that will be my one unknown for the exposure three weeks ago. I am awaiting western blot test sent off 16 days ago, but am going stir crazy waiting on results. I am praying it is negative.  If I was exposed orally to Herpes three weeks ago, should my last IGG result been much higher?

you already have hsv1 so it's doubtful you'd contract genital herpes from oral sex.It's almost always only hsv1 from receiving oral sex.

Just received Western Blot results: negative for HSV2!  I wish these internet STD testing companies would be better informed and be able to suggest confirmation testing.

There are lots of sad stories I have been reading on these forums. I urge anyone struggling with sex addiction to get help. I did through looking up help on the internet, try setting captives free as a free course.
