HSV2 exposure?

Had a sexual male to male encounter yesterday and am pretty concerned about the exposure. I'm a 30yo male and had an encounter with a 25yo male. There was no intercourse, he performed oral sex on me for about half hour and then he proceeded to grind his rear end on my penis/scrotum for a few minutes. There was no anal sex or penetration. My concern is that when he flipped on his back to continue oral sex, his legs were up for a few seconds and I noted a white/grayish cluster of something near his anus/taint so I immediately stopped any contact with his backside. My concern is I have no idea what that was (herpes? hpv?) and he did grind on my genitals unprotected so there was skin to skin contact for couple minutes. He swore he was clean and he only had a rash a year before and that was probably only the scarring. Questions are: 1) What are my chances of having contracted an STD from this experience? 1) what could that have possibly been? It wasn't red or anything, it was about the size of 2 coins, clustery and white/gray. Any help for peace of mind would be great.

It's really hard to say what you saw on your partner. That being said you had a low risk exposure. Does not sound like a herpes outbreak. Look up hpv or herpes outbreaks and see if anything looks like what he had. Like I said. From your description it doesn't sound like herpes. The oral sex was certainly low risk. The grinding is a small risk but overall your risk of any std from this exposure is very low.
