Oak about a week. It's on most of my arms and legs, ranging from minor rashes to a few that are a little more intense. Well when I first noticed the poison
of poison that could of spread when I had the oil on my hands, or even from my bath towel I used the night I got the poison. But then I started to second guess if it was herpes or some other form of an std. The only thing is, I have no other symptoms like a headache, body ache, swollen lymph nodes, etc or anything that is generally associated with herpes symptoms. Also, it hasn't gotten bigger, or spread anywhere else on my penis. It might be 1/2 a cm in size. It's just a small sore, that does not itch or bother me, except for mentally. It kinda looks like if someone scratched over a scab, but very tiny. I have never had any other strange spots like this on my penis before, and I'm kinda freaking out. I know the only way to be sure is to get tested, but should I wait until the poison clears up, and see if the spot goes away also, or get tested now while the spot is present? Secondly, I should add, that I have been dating a girl for 6-7 months, and have never used a condom. She has never had signs (that I know of) and she just got tested about 2-4 weeks ago and said she was clean. So, am I just freaking out? could it be herpes? could it be poison? or is it just an abrasion? Is it possible to have a herpes sore, without any other symptoms? Is it possible I've had it for a long time, and a poison oak outbreak caused a herpes outbreak?? Any info would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
not unusual to get poison rashes on the genitals. My favorite for myself was the time I obviously scratched my butt - you could see a perfect hand print on my butt cheek....he he he
getting it on your penis wouldn't be unusual since usually you have to hold the lil guy while aiming ( unless you want any females in your life to kill you ).
Really no reason to seek out herpes testing from this at this point. I'd avoid sex though until the skin is back to normal of course!
since you don't use condoms with your partner, did you both seek out full std testing prior to starting to be intimate to make sure neither of you had herpes or any other std?
Yea, I mean hopefully I'm just freaking out, because I've never seen anything like this on my penis EVER. If this was a first outbreak, wouldn't it be a lot more intense, than just one spot, and 6 months down the road?? Plus wouldn't I have more symptoms, right? The only "symptom" I have that could be related to herpes is a small sore..
No, actually neither one of us got tested until she got tested 2-4 weeks ago.
The only thing that kinda scares me is that it doesn't really look like poison, it almost looks like an ulcer.. which I know herpes can appear that way, and some of the pictures I have seen, it kinda resembles a herpes sore. But there is no pain, and it doesn't itch like the poison on the rest of my body, which kinda made me think it was something other than the poison. It would pretty uncomfortable if it was herpes correct? is there any such thing as "painless" herpe sores? I guess I'll just say it's poison, avoid sex, and see if it clears up with the rest of the rashes on my arms and legs..?
your genital skin is different from the skin on hands, arms, legs etc. It will look different.
herpes lesions won't be painful - they will be uncomfortable at the very least and/or itch.
if you suspect this is more than poison, see your provider today or tomorrow.
when your gf got tested, what testing did she have done? was it just a routine pap or did she specifically have std testing that included herpes igg blood testing?
if it's been more than 2 weeks and your poison is still spreading, consult your provider too.
I see.
Well, like I said, the spot doesn't bother me at all, it only hurts if I apply pressure on it.
She said she got a std screening done, and she said, that the paper said (which I should of looked at myself cus she read it to me) that she was clear and clean on an std check. I assumed she got blood work done, but I don't know for sure. I also assumed since she was clean, I should be too since we have been having unprotected sex on the regular for about 7 months. I know stuff can be dormant, and pop up outta no where, but how common is that?
Well, I'm kinda scared because the small sore has looked pretty much the same for about 5 days. And now this morning, right before I left for work I noticed some pain in my groin area, and I have a swollen gland that's kinda painful... so that kinda seems like it might be bad, and that is a sign of herpes, right? Or could that in fact be an allergic reaction?
Anyway, I decided last night that I was gonna go to the doctor today after work for my poison, because it seems a little worse, and it's been about a week. So, I figured I can kill two birds with one stone, and have them check out my other problem.. and get a screening and blood test at the same time. Then this evening I'm going to my girlfriend's.. I guess I'll talk with her about it this evening too. Guess I'll let you know, and in the mean time, additional info would help if you have any, thanks.
Well I went to the doctor. I got a steroid shot for the poison, and got prescribed some type of steroid pill, as well as a pill for itching. I asked about the spot on my penis, and they sasid it's very possible it got down there as well. Because I was breaking out in new rashes the past couple days (probably the repercussions of me using the same bath towel a couple days after I came in contact with the poison) She took a swab of it, which was painless, and she noted that if it was an std, ie herpes, it would of been kinda painful to take a swab of it. I asked about a std test / blood test just in case. Because I don't have a standard insurance, with a co pay, most of my visits I have to pay for etc. She wasn't sure about how much a test was, although she knew it was expensive. She gave me a number to call to see about the cost, and mentioned if it was too much, and I wanted to be sure to just go to a free clinic. She also suggested that maybe I wait, if it goes away with all the other rashes from the poison, then I can probably rest easy. Although, last night, and today I have a few more spots around the first initial spot. Bubbled blisters, not clustered like herpes would be, but maybe 4 of them scattered in the same area. It looks a lot like some of the other poison rashes that I had on the other parts of my body. Only strange thing is it still doesn't itch. Also, I think it's hard for that area of my body to dry up, because it's a moist area. Anyway, I think I'm gonna see if it all clears up at the same time, because I think I might of been freaking out in the first place. I will get a test soon just to be sure though. What are your thoughts?
