Help Understanding Results

by yikesinma, Nov 06, 2009 04:02PM
I tested Negative for all STD's and a CBC and Renal function test that all came back fine. My only positive STD was :Herpes Simplex 1

Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) Types I and II Specific Antibodies, IgG
HSV-1 aB IgG

>5.00 H
POSITIVE

I do have what seems to be something like a UTI. Could this be caused by the HSV-1 if this is a new exposure to the genital area?

no way to know from a blood test if your hsv1 is oral or genital.  If you had a properly diagnosed uti then you know it's not herpes that caused it.

http://www.ashastd.org/herpes/herpes_learn_oralherpes.cfm  is a terrific site for more info on oral hsv1 for more reading.  Odds are that your hsv1 is oral.

To: thats is where I am confused
If it was genital herpes does the herpes actually cause a uti - or is imflamtion of the ureathrea a side effect of an outbreak, therefore being viral there is nothing that can be done?
