Help understanding blood test

So a few days ago I went into an Urgent Care because it felt like I had a uti. Well I had unprotected sex about a month ago and decided I wanted STD testing. I specifically said herpes just because I was naming off every STD I could think of. UTI comes back pos. So does herpes I/II

Heres what the paper says :

hsv I/II igm Ab         1.15h
hsv I igG ab            <0.91
hsv II igG                <0.91


I'm confused because they called and said I was positive for both. but the IgG says less than.
i freaked out and went in to talk to the nurse and she basically said go to my primary care doctor and learn to live with it.

Symptoms I am having are some burning and itching on my vagina and soreness, but at the same time I'm thinking about it constantly and freaked out. around my lips feels a little funny, idk.

Hiv will be conclusive at 28 days with any 4th gen duo test. Like I keep telling you. Your Dr was wrong to diagnose you based on igm.

So I can trust the HIV one? How do I know if I got 4th Gen duo test? Do you think I'll need to be retested in two months?

I read it. I think it's gonna take two more months for me to be certain. And then probably like 6 more for me to know I don't have HIV. The thing is though I was diagnosed. I mean the doctor said it. I wish my appt was today :(

I just wonder what this pain in my thigh groin is. The other things could be made up on my head but this really hurts up into my buttocks

It's rare to have lesions inside the urethra and not have them on the outside as well. Or at least that you can see. I still strongly suspect this isn't hsv related. I hope they can get this figured out asap. I wish you luck.

I really need to stay off google. My left groin and buttocks is hurting very bad. I currently have a heating pad on it and I&#39;m kind of having like a tingling feeling down there and itching. I know I have to wait til tomorrow and probably even longer but I&#39;m just going crazy

Also I finished my uti medication and it's still burning pretty bad for awhile after I pee. What do you think could be the cause of this? And soreness down there

Still does not suggest hsv. Hsv stays in the nerve ganglia it was contracted in. It doesn't wonder the body. I think your stress over herpes (which I highly doubt you have) is causing you to be way over stressed

Hi, I will try to sort out the terrible care you were given. First off (I know this will be very difficult but trust me on this) throw out the igm results. Simply forget it exists. They are horribly unreliable and no std or herpes specialist recommends the igm test. In fact they want them removed from the herpes testing menu in adults. You are not alone. I deal with this exact same scenario at least three times a week. They did you no favors and sent you into a tail spin for no reason at all. Please feel free to research igm herpes testing.
My advice is to believe the uti results and forget about the herpes. If you were going to have a primary outbreak it would have happened with in two weeks. Not a month later. All things add up to a uti.

I am terrified. I sat down with the nurse practioner and she said you are positive. that I need to go to counseling for it (because I was crying and freaking out so badly) and to tell my partner. I have an appt with an obgyn. i'm out of town due to a death in the family and under tremendous stress.

I have lower back pain with some pain in my thighs and buttocks and now i think there is like lump on the right side of my vagina. my lymph nodes have been swollen lately.  and just general soreness down there and in my thighs,

why would she say its positive? if i retest will the iGg tests numbers go up? because i got those tests done too. I hope I'm looking at the right numbers. but those are the only numbers next to the test. sorry I'm just having a hell of a time.

I didn't know it wasn't standard not to test for this and wouldn't have even asked for it if I knew everything i do now.

do you think there is something on the lab results that she sees that I don't?! there is like a little comment bubble at the end of each number. what does that mean?

I think they are misinformed like most Dr's about hsv and testing. They see a positive test and tell your you have hsv. They even told you you have both strains. Don't stress so much over this honestly. I have seen this many times. I would test again this time igg only in three weeks or so.
If you developed an open sore then get it swabbed and tested. I don't suspect this is hsv related a month after exposure. Like I said it sounds more like a uti.

I was stating your symptoms came on a month after exposure. A primary outbreak of hsv happens within two weeks. Usually 3-7 days later.
As far as how to deal with this. I honestly don't believe you have herpes. Your hung up on the test result (I understand why) but in reality I would be surprised if this was hsv related

I hope you're right. The doctor seemed so certain and had nothing much to say to me when I asked her to explain. Do you know what the little comment bubbles mean next to the numbers. I'm sorry I'm asking so many questions and I appreciate you taking the time to answer them.

They were to quick to tell you that you're positive. That test is highly unreliable. Clearly your Dr doesn't know much about the virus.
Be more specific on the "comment bubbles" I wasn't sure what you meant.

I saw them. I have no idea what those are or why they're on the results. You were negative on the igg so I wouldn't worry to much. Wait 8 weeks from exposure and test again. I highly doubt you have hsv.

It has been 8 weeks. I'm still freaked out. What if those bubbles means something I don't know? I have a doctor appt with an obgyn on Tuesday. My mind cant accept it because a nurse practioner sat there and told me I have it and to learn to live it!!

I'm sorry to keep replying but on the left side of my vagina it's swollen and hurts down to my thigh. It almost feels like it's bruised or something and throbbing. I'm so afraid those comment bubbles have like different numbers on the computer or something. Do you think that's possible? I honestly wish I never got the test !

No. I think the comment bubbles are meaningless. Your values were posted and that is all there is. I would get looked at again and maybe get the area of concern swabbed and pcr tested.

Ok just one last question. I'm breaking out on my heads it looks like eczema but is not itchy. Also have a rash on my buttocks and a little like in the cracks (sorry if tmi) it doesn't really itch it just feels irritated. And the opening of my vagina burns but I think I may have a yeast infection. Not sure.
