Herpes, infected follicle, or zit??

Hi,

It has been a little over 4 works or so since I had unprotected sex with a girl. Just the other day after discomfort in inner left thigh near my scrotum, I noticed a bright red pimple near the top of my ballsack on that left side. It looked like a zit mostly, had some sort of white or yellow top to it, and was sore to the touch..also some itchiness there. Today it seems to be receding, and it more shallow and rounded and more of a dull red, still a little sore and itchiness..but appears may be possibly going away already. Does this sound like herpes? Or since it is only a single bump is that very unlikely etc.? side note; I have had a itchy butt for the past 3 weeks it seems, due to a probable hemmrhoid, but not positive. Thanks for any help!

thank you! I will look into doing that test, hopefully planned parenthood can provide it. I am just paranoid though because of that soreness (not to mention the quick zit incident) and every once in a great while I experience a "zing" split second sharp pain through my penis, and I felt that for the first time days after the unprotected sex incident. Its been very difficult to not be worrying about the possibility of a life-changing disease because of the incident and following symptoms, I look forward to being tested and hopefully relieved of these worries.

a type specific herpes igg blood test differentiates between hsv1 and hsv2.

If your provider did a visual exam with a glove then it probably really is a hemorrhoid.

Don't let paranoia about std's cause you to be more anxiety ridden about this than you need to be. Are you treating your hemorrhoid?

it feels like I sat on a bad bike seat too long and have that sort of bruised feeling, soreness especially when pressed on, at my lower butt area/upper thigh. If I did have a hemmrhoid could that be the cause? Or is it likely something else, perhaps a bigger worry?

okay, but I was told that the herpes testing is tricky because if I have had non-genital herpes before (cold sores on lip) then it may come back positive when in fact it isnt genital herpes, is this true? Never had a test before for that. I am not sure what you mean by rectal exam but I think it was external as she just took a look at it with gloves and eye. Does this sound like herpes too you? I am concerned about the fast disappearing zit and this almost constant soreness where crease of butt and groin meet legs (is this the lymph nodes or glands that swell as a symptom to STD?)

At this point everything is too well healed for lesion cultures to be of any use. Follow up in a few months with type specific herpes igg blood testing. Have you ever had a herpes blood test before?

Did your doctor do a rectal exam to determine hemorrhoids or just an external exam?

not for the zit like bump, but I have been tested and clear for chlamydia and gonhreaa, I have yet to go in for HIV, planning to do so soon. But the doc suspected a hemmhroid as far as the itchy butt goes. I am afraid this bump may be gone or almost gone by the time I can get in to see the doc for it.

Have you seen your doctor yet? Did you also cover other std bases too since it was unprotected sex?

last note - had some soreness in the groin area, like where my thigh creases with my butt and legs..assumed it was due to possible hemmhroid (but thought Id note as Ive read swollen glands down there is a symptom..not sure whether it was glands or not, no clue)

just wanted to add that what I meant by receding or going away is now it isnt bright red and doesnt have such and obvious 'head' to it, looks more like a red bump..or a pimple or coldsore that lost its 'head' and is now just a round red bump.
