Herpes, or maybe just chafing...?

Ok... firstly.. I masturbate atleast 1 time a day, probably more like twice a day on average. And I am uncircumcised. And I pretty much never use any kind of lubrication, and have had chafing problems in the past because of this.
Anyway, this is the 2nd time i've had this particular skin rash/irritation/dryness, and both have happened within the past month or so, and it's in the same spot as last time as far as I can tell.
How it starts is this... my penis skin starts to get kind of dry... I'm guessing because I don't use any kind of lubricant for masturbation (this is going to have to change lol), after a day or 2 of doing nothing about the dryness, a section of skin... about 1/4 in wide, and almost half-way around my penis starts peeling away. I can tell the skin is peeling because it's super dry, it's located just below the tip of my penis, and mostly on the underside...
both times this has happened, I have peeled all the dry/dead skin off, which leaves a red irritation spot on the penis for a couple days. I can tell it's irritated because I peeled the skin off, and probably peeled too much off because it's a habbit I have with loose skin anywhere... nails, fingers, whatever... I see loose skin, I try to get rid of it.
The irritation is alot like what you get when you have really chapped lips, and you peel dead skin off, soemtimes if you peel slightly too much off, get 1 layer too shallow, the skin is really tender and irritated... That's how this gets.
Anyway, once the irritation sets in, I noticed that there are very small very flat... I wouldn't say bumps... I would say "raised" parts of the skin in the red irritation... I can tell there are parts that are raised up and inflamed.
Definitely these are no ulcers or bleeding or anything like that... It looks and feels like some irritated, try, chapped skin... It's not uncomfortable unless I touch it. It doesn't "burst open"... It doesn't scar... It only lasts a day or 2, new skin grows in just like it does when your lips heal from being chapped. From noticing the peeling on the penis, to pretty much completely healed new skin... it's about 4 days total.
This is a really hard thing to explain in writing... so hopefully someone can understand what I am trying to say and help me out.
I personally do not think this is HSV-2... I have had HSV-1 since I was very young, so I know what herpe sores look and feel like... these are nothing like it, and are not NEARLY as painful as the sores I get on/around my lips from HSV-1.
I just figured I'd post on here... what I have looks "KINDA" like HSV-2 pictures I have seen online... but not really... the pics I see online are like 100x worse than anything I have had.
OHHH also... I think I might either have a yeast infection, or balanitis... at first i was leaning to yeast infection, but after hearing about balanitis, and me being uncircumcised at all... it seems more likely that it is what I have... plus it looks more like it by the pictures I see... Could this all be linked? Could Balanitis cause something like this around my penis?
Could I really just be masturbating too much that I'm causing my penis to fall off!? ;-D... no seriously haha... am I just masturbating too much and causing the skin to get irritated because I don't use lube?
