Herpes 1 and 2

I need to know how to go about to tell my boyfriend that I have HSV 1 &2.  Also is it contagious?  How can I protect my partner against getting my herpes?  How do I ask him if he has herpes or any other STDs? Even HIV?

is your herpes contagious? yes it is. the handbook goes into more details for more reading.  

How do you protect your partner?  He'll need tested to see what his own status is and then go from there. You can use condoms, avoid sex when you have symptoms and even consider daily suppressive therapy to lower his risk.

It's part of being sexually responsible to talk about std's, testing, condoms and birth control with a potential partner. It's as much for your protection as his!
