Herpes ELISA ( EUROIMMUN ) TEST RESULT

Hi ,

I had a risky exposure and tested Herpes ELISA ( EUROIMMUN ) in 4 Weeks and 6 Weeks. My results are as below.

4 Weeks : 9.7 RU/ml ( Negative)
6 Weeks : 1.7 RU/ml ( Negative)

Should i test again in 12 Weeks ? I have requested the girl to test and she did the same test and result was 25.6 RU/ml ( Positive).

I had a Urine pain and symptoms are going away in almost 5 weeks. But still its uncomfortable down there. Only 1 lesion appeared in my Foot but it was gone in 2 weeks. no other symptoms. The girl is saying that she never had a n kind of symptoms before and she was surprised about the results.

Please help me . What should i do ?

That's not a risky exposure. I wouldn't even recommend testing without obvious symptoms. Your odds of contracting hsv from this are extremely low.

Was her test pos for hsv1 or hsv2?. Just curious. Doesn't change my opinion of this not being a high risk encounter

How come MRSA Was not found in the first semen culture ? Can MRSA get in to my semen sample during the sample transfer from collection point to the lab ? I heard about this possibility also.

My urine pain is back again. It was gone away couple of days and back again. Last time check my semen after this encounter , doctors found MRSA on my semen in the 2nd culture test. But I weeks before I did the 1st semen culture then it was clear from bacteria. They gave me cipro for MRSA but now urine pain is back . So u think it's herpes symptom ? I don't have pain during urination but after that it hurts. Very interesting things happening to me at this moment. Glad if could help. By the way, urine pain came just after this encounter with this girl. ( within 24 hours and persistence for almost 8 weeks by now )

That surely doesnt sound like an hsv lesion. Don't over think it.

Herpes blisters are always fluid filled ? It can appear as pimple shape also ? 2 days back I irritated my pimple like pump in my thigh and now it became a bit of a wound like sore . Again worried :(

I still have to say that the odds of you getting hsv from this exposure is so low it doesnt warrant your stress level. Its close to zero!! Most adults have oral hsv1 and the transmition rate is very very low. A one time oral exposure where no sores are present is not a big risk. No matter what her test says. Getting hsv from a one time protected intercourse is as close to zero as you can get. In all my time here i have never had someone get hsv from a one time protected encounter. Please relax the odds are overwhelmingly in your favor.

Yes. It was another mistake . Requested to do another test. Shall I test again myself in 8 weeks ? I just cannot wait. Too much in depression.

I highly doubt your symptoms are hsv related. Why would they give her another useless test?

She did another non specific  test and her result was 5.73
Cutoff mark was 1.1 . I am supper terrified at the moment. This is true positive . I know only I can do at this moment is wait out until 12 week and test myself. But these sysmptoms really telling something.

Again I got a very small single  blister on my thigh. It's very small. I keep on thinking about herpese symptoms at this moment . Totally painless. Any thoughts ?

Thanks for the reply. Only thing I can do is wait for her next result and wait another 5 weeks for me to test. And also keep eye open for any symptoms . I will update the thread once the results are available.

50. In my experience is more of a true positive. Her value was very low and definitely could be a false positive.

Another question is that , what would be the value for actual infection ? Is it 50 RU/ml or 70 RU/ml according to your past experience ? I saw some threads mentioning these values as true positives.

Calm down. Your tests are not conclusive. Needs to be 12 weeks from exposure. That being said your protected sex and unprotected oral sex is very low risk. Very low. Hsv is not a super contagious infection. See what her next test reveles. Her score is very low. Either way you need to relax.

This was the only teat she has done . She will be doing another test next week for seperate infActions for hsv1 and hsv2. I am really worried about this and don't want this nasty one in one body.

What is your idea about the test results ? Am I clean from HSV ? Do I need to test again ? Is she in false positive range ? She is claiming she never had any kind of symptoms . Non so ever in her life.
