Herpes/HIV

If a person has herpes and is HIV negative and is in a relationship and the other person is HIV negative also can they get HIV if they stay monogomous?

the only realistic way you could get HIV if you're both currently negative and monogomous would be if one or both of you were sharing needles with someone who is HIV positive.

thats the only way?so herpes does not turn into HIV it just has you at a high risk of contracting it if you encounter a HIV positive individual?

yes, the only realistic way of getting it in your situation would be through needle sharing.  herpes is just herpes - it never becomes anything else.  but yes, if you have herpes, you are at a greater risk of acquiring HIV through sexual contact with a person who is HIV positive, most especially if you have lesions at the time of your would-be encounter.

Herpes and hiv are 2 completely different viruses. Neither can turn into the other.
