Herpes Help Desperate For Answers

Hi I am freaking out about a possible exposure 5 seconds of unprotected sex, the rest with a condom here's what symptoms I've had:
- 3 days after encounter penis began to tingle swell, felling unwell, chills
- 4-8 days scrotum red and burning and warm, penile pain, slight clear discharge pain in spot of urethra yet no pain when urination, feeling unwell, swollen groin (so I'm guessing swollen lymph nodes)
In the original outbreak if you'd like to call it I did no get ANY sores but had all the above symptoms and pain. There's just no way this is nothing or all anxiety.

At 4 weeks I went to get checked for every std and everything came back negative including HSV1 and HSV2. I'm assuming this has to be herpes I've had a slight flare up for 3 days of discomfort in the area again and I'm absolutely devastated. Is there anything else this could possible be or like me does everyone think this is for sure herpes?

Would you say though that this is most likely herpes? I wish it wasn't but considering everything else is negative is that what I should assume? I just can't see all of those symptoms being "nothing to worry about" as I keep getting told. I don't want to spread this if I do in fact have it.

At this point you can only retest at the 12 week mark or at 6-8 weeks as an indicator.

Thank you for the quick reply I really appreciate it. I would say there was a slight fever at time associated with the chills I'm just so confused as to why no sores appeared with all of these symptoms. There's really nothing else I can picture all of this being since I had so many of the symptoms.

Hi, testing for herpes at 4 weeks may show a slight positive and since you were negative that would be a somewhat ok indicator that you are negative. 6 weeks would be a better indicator. When a person is infected and shows primary symptoms they would be more of fever and body aches as the immune system is mounting a defense building antibodies.
The scrotum issues your having are not consistant with a herpes primary outbreak as would be more at point of contact like the shaft area as to contract herpes there needs to be some intense rubbing to create friction to force the virus into the nerve.
That leaves us with your urethra issues. Interior irritations could be a symptom if a UTI. The can be mild and often ones thinks it maybe anxiety driven. Infections like Gono would be quite server with very painful urination and a puss white discharge. Chlamydia would also be irritating but more of a urethra "itch" than burning and also a white discharge.

Sometimes UTI,s are a little tricky to get rid of because they dont know which bacteria is causing it. If they continue maybe have your urethra swabbed for a culture or PCR test.
