I have not been tested for Herpes but have gotten cold sores, I am not sexually active. A few days ago I noticed a dime-sized open lesion on my inner thigh, right where my testicles
rub against my leg. I thought it could be some sort of chaffing and put neosporin on it with a bandaid. The next day there was a small red dot next to this open lesion which has since spread to be the size of the first lesion and it looks like there may be a third appearing. These aren't blisters they are more like a rash. I don't have health insurance and can't afford a doctor visit but they are painful
, herpes simplex, or a psoriasis? I appreciate any help and advice on how to manage this issue. Again, there was no initial blister, they are open lesions from the onset and appear to grow in size outward and have spread around my inner thigh.
No one around here will be able to tell you what's going on. You need to be seen by a doctor, really. This does not sound a lot like herpes, but you still need to be seen by a dermatologist since the symptoms are not getting any better.
it's doubtful that this is any of what your suggested.
At this point, don't continue to put neosporin on it. Try just powdering the area before you get dressed for now. it will help to absorb extra moisture and reduce friction without potentially irritating the area.
Call your local health department to see what your local low cost/no cost options are for being seen so you can get better answers for this. Many bacterial skin infections that won't clear up with topical antibiotics as well as fungal infections can also cause issues too so it's well worth being seen if the rash is getting worse instead of better.
