Herpes Risk - One Time Protected

I had sex the other night with a girl I had gone on a couple of dates with. I wore a condom and we didn't participate in any other kind of sexual activity besides kissing, and she only found out yesterday that she has HSV 2. She only just found out the morning after we had sex, because she was feeling strange pain from it.

I called and setup an appointment to get tested, but they said that it takes about 3 weeks before they can test accurately.

I'm honestly going crazy, and although her doctor told her to tell me that the risk for me was "low," I'd still like to know what my chances of getting it are.

So here are the facts:
- We had sex twice, once that night, once in the morning.
- Both times I wore a condom and we did NOT do oral or anything else.
- She may have had a small outbreak at the time, but it wasn't completely visible

This wait is killing me. Any information would be helpful.

if you are bf and gf, ask her about testing and support her while she goes through all of this :)  The free herpes handbook we recommend in our read before posting post is also helpful too.

I'm not really sure what kind of testing she got. But I will definitely go as soon as possible to get a test done just to compare it.

if she had an active ob at the time, your risk is higher even with condom use unfortunately.

at this point, I recommend seeking out a type specific herpes igg blood test now and then if you were negative, repeat it in 3 months post encounter.  getting a baseline test now is helpful to compare future tests to.   should you get any obvious genital symptoms in the next 2-20 days, be seen promptly for a lesion culture and typing and prompt treatment.

what testing did your partner receive so far?
