If you had no skin contact you dont need testing. Lower back pain is not a symptom of herpes but an injury to your back. Most symptoms of a recurrent outbreak would be tingling and those of a recent infection would be body aches and fever.
Anyone have any thoughts on lower back pain being a main symptom of HSV2 infection? Do not see any lesions anywhere but also not sure when they would show up in relation to the onset of the back pain.
So much information out here about when to get tested. Is it 12 weeks, 16 weeks, or something else? I tested negative after 8 weeks following a low risk, protected encounter but can I really rely on that? I do not think that I have had obvious lesions over the past 2 months but for the past month or so I have been getting pretty bad lower back pain, sometimes it is excruciating. Does this mean I may have herpes. It does not appear to be followed by any lesions. Is lower back pain a major symptom of HSV2 anyway?
Hi, if no genital rubbing skin contact was made then you would not have any risk. Your legs touching would not be an issue as herpes prefers soft mucus type skin areas to get into the nerve.
