Herpes Symptoms all Neg tests

I have been to the GYN, but I have these open lesions on my vagina.  I have had them going on 2 weeks now and they hurt like hell.  I have been tested both blood and culture of the sores for herpes and all other STDs.  Everything is negative, but more than one doctor in the practice cannot come up with anything this could be other than herpes.  Prior to the lesions, I had a really high fever and a sore throat.  I am also constantly exhausted.  If anyone has any ideas, PLEASE let me know.  I am going back to the doc next week for another blood test and more exams.

It does sound like herpes. Sorry you have to wait for more confirmation! Which I could tell you something else.

I should also mention that I have had the same partner for 6 years.  I am the only person hes been with and I was only with two others, 6 plus years ago. It should be in my blood by now if its there, right?

did your partner get type specific herpes igg blood testing?

do you know you had hsv igg blood testing or igm testing?

Did they treat you for herpes based on the initial visual diagnosis of herpes?  Did they do any bacterial cultures?

My partner has not been tested, as this is the firs sign I have had of anything and he has never been with anyone else.  It is unlikely he is the source.

I am not sure what type of test I had, but it tested for both hsv 1 &2.  Both were negative. (I was unaware before coming to this site that there were 2 different tests out there)

A bacterial culture was taken as well as a herpes culture.  Those also came back negative.  The doc also took a swab sample and looked at it under a microscope and found nothing.

I was treated on the visual diagnosis for both a bacterial infection (with an antibiotic) and valtrex.  it has definately gotten better, but I still obviously want to know what is wrong with me.

Is it possible that after a 6 year incubation period this would still not show up in my blood.  I cant imagine that it wouldn't show if it was there.

Do you have any more testing reccommendations?  I will be going back to the Doc Wednesday.

if everything is coming up negative then I suggest a referral to a dermatologist to start looking at other causes.
