Herpes Testing

Hi Doctor, I was wondering if you could help me. I had sex with someone of unknown herpes status 4 months ago. At about 7 1/2 weeks I got a blood test which I am guessing is IgG because there were two separate diagnosis - one for HS1 and one for HS2 - and the HS2 came back negative but HS1 came back positive (which I expected because I have had cold sores since I was a little child). However, I am wondering if this was too soon to get a test? Are my chances great that I am negative if I have not had any symptoms since then ?

This is not the doctor's forum - you have to pay to post there.

If you really need the peace of mind, you'll need to retest at the 4 month post encounter mark. if it was unprotected sex you need to also get hiv and syphilis testing at that point too.
