No, I don't think it would be helpful to wait for 6 months to be tested again. The number of people who become positive after 4 months is incredibly small.
This is my final post on this thread.

Do you think I am safe to have unprotected sex with my partner and move forward from this? Or should I wait until 6 months and have another ELISA done and then be done?
Currently experiencing buttocks pain and pulling in my inner thighs.
No test is 100% certain, but you have done the appropriate testing at the appropriate time after possible exposure. No one could do more. Muscle aches and twitching are not symptoms of herpes without anything else. Our groin lymph nodes respond to any irritation below the waist, including an ingrown toenail! That also by itself is not concerning. The negative antibody tests that you have far outweigh any concerns about muscle reactions and enlarged lymph nodes.

Hey Terri, I am really sorry to bother you with this, any chance you can review my last post? Thank you very much for your time.
Thanks for your response Terri. I have a partner that I do not want to infect and want to be 100% certain I do not have the virus. Is 16 weeks conclusive or should I wait 6 months? I am experiencing symptoms (ie muscle pain in my inner thighs, pain in buttocks, muscle twitching). The most concerning symptom I had were my enlarged/tender inguinal lymp nodes 1 week post exposure). I am a young male with no immune system problems. I also tested negative IGG at 12 weeks. When can I be certain I don't have this? Thanks very much.
I would feel comfortable believing these results, yes. You've waited long enough for accuracy. A western blot is not necessary.
