Herpes Through Clothing

Hello Grace.  I was recently diagnosed with genital herpes and am currently having a recurrent outbreak on my buttocks.  I noticed today that the blisters had popped and there was some liquid on my underwear.  My question is whether the virus could travel through the underwear and pants to potentially infect others.  I am very worried and any advice would help greatly.

Herpes is transmitted through direct skin on skin contact.  Even though your clothing was damp with fluid from the herpes lesions, this still isn't really a risk for anyone in routine day to day life. I wouldn't worry about it to be honest.
