Herpes Transmission Between Mouth and Genitals

Hi! If I kissed someone who was infected with Herpes, and then he went down on me a few weeks later, would the fact that we kissed first only transmit the Herpes to my mouth, or would the virus also be on my genitals, even though we waited almost a month before he did that?

Thank you, but how long counts as recent? Would a few weeks be long enough to develop antibodies?

Hi, most that get the same herpes in different areas, got them at the same time. If you contracted hsv1 oral from kissing you still could contract it genital if the infection was considered recent. Recent meaning untill you developed adequate antibodies to help prevent it. Having a long time hsv oral would make getting it genital next to zero, if possible at all. You basicly become immune to the same strain.
