Herpes and HPV Vaccine

I was getting frequent attacks of genital herpes for about 3 years.  Each one never extensive, but never the less very troublesome.  I had tried the two main oral antivirals which helped but never stopped the herpes reappearing after a few weeks.  When the Gardisil vaccine was released, I decided to try it and over 6 months I had the full course privately.  I did not have any particular hope that it would have any significant effect on the genital herpes, but much to my surprise, from soon after the second dose I have never had a repeat outbreak of the genital herpes.  Maybe I was lucky, and it would have stopped of its own accord, or maybe the vaccine did something - who knows, but it sure helped me.  Its about 18 months now since I finished the course.
